Here, I try to make things simple and easy to understand. You want to know the science of food? Proteins? Carbohydrates? But can never understand it ever so clearly? I will do our best to take the PhD Authors of the science world and turn it into information for all to read and understand.

Who writes here?

My name is Kimberly Scott and I grew up with the passion of cooking and learning my knowledge from my Great Grandmother down to my Mother, whom was always obsessed with dieting, healthy foods, vitamins, etc. So within my blood runs the passion for cooking and the brainwashed (as some may say) desire for healthy aspects, which lead me to Culinary school at Le Cordon Bleu. Here at FoodTalk101 I will teach you the lessons I’ve learned, the truths of food, diets (ruling out those horrible crash diets), nutrition, secrets of the trade, healthy tips & snippets all while continuing to learn anything food related and guide you as my students.

We take food seriously here.

–True Stories–

My all time personal hero and one of my top ideals that pushed me over the edge and brought me to leaving home and following my dreams to attend Culinary school and become a Chef, is Paula Deen.

After being divorced she had a slope of depression that hit her, for moved her sons to Savanna,Ga where she started a small business out of her home. She made homemade sandwiches etc, and having her sons go to offices downtown during the lunch hours. This business became known as ‘The Bag Lady.’

From there she was later offered the chance to cook a lunch buffet at a hotel. She got the chance to bring her southern cooking that she learned from her grandmother to life. In 1990 she opened her first restaurant ‘The Lady and Sons,’ it served breakfast, lunch and dinner in a small space that could seat 42 people maximum. It took off and made a huge hit and later in 1995 she moved her restaurant to a bigger space in downtown Savanna.

After having watched her life story on the food network through the program Chefograhy and seeing the whole story and everything that she had actually gone through, I was truly touched and inspired to become something like her one day; To have my own restaurant and become a chef.
